Climate in Belize

Belize has a warm tropical climate with two main seasons, the rainy season and the dry season. The shift between them is easy to notice, although the exact timing can change slightly depending on the region. The rainy season usually runs from June to November. Northern areas receive about 60 inches (1,524 mm) of rain each year, while the far south can see up to 160 inches (4,064 mm). Rainfall varies quite a bit from one year to the next outside the southern districts.

Average temperatures along the coast are around 81°F (27°C), while the inland hills stay cooler, averaging closer to 69°F (21°C). January is typically the coolest month. The hottest weather usually arrives in the middle of the year, though some places experience their warmest conditions in May.
