Climate in Dominica

Dominica has a warm, tropical climate year-round, and average temperatures of around 81°F (27°C). There's little seasonal variation and the weather is typically hot and humid, with frequent showers that help sustain the island's lush rainforest. The drier months, especially February to April, offer the most comfortable travel conditions. May is a transitional month, meaning it's still outside peak hurricane season but increasingly humid and rainy. Hurricane season runs from June to November, with the highest risk in August and September. Some travellers visit between October and December, when the rains begin to ease. October can still be stormy, but November and December often bring cooler, less humid days with fewer tourists and lower prices. Overall, February is a top choice for weather, while November and December can offer a quieter, pleasant alternative. October is less ideal due to higher storm risk. May is acceptable but edging into the wetter season.
