Getting Around
The Baku Metro is a reliable way to get around the city. It has 27 stations on three lines and covers most major areas. Buses and minibuses also run throughout the city and into the surrounding districts, so public transport is generally easy to use.
Bolt and Uber operate in Baku, and regular taxis are widely available too. It's best to choose registered, metered taxis, as unofficial ones can be less dependable.
Travellers who want to hire a car will find several rental companies at the airport. Road conditions in central Baku are usually good, and signage is easy to follow. However, local driving habits can be unpredictable, so foreign drivers should take care and drive defensively.
