Yerevan Climate and Weather
Yerevan has a continental semi-arid climate influenced by its elevation and surrounding mountains. The city experiences hot, dry summers and cold winters with occasional snowfall. This sharp contrast between seasons is due to its location in the Ararat Valley, far from the sea and enclosed by mountains.
Summer (June to September) temperatures are typically hot, with daytime highs averaging between 86 and 97°F (30 and 36°C) and night-time lows around 68 to 73°F (20 to 23°C). Winters (December to February) are cold, with average lows around 21°F (-6°C) and highs of 34 to 43°F (1 to 6°C), though colder spells do occur. Snowfall is occasional but not persistent.
Yerevan is relatively dry year-round, with annual precipitation averaging about 12.5 inches (318 mm), most of which falls in spring and late autumn.
