The airport is well connected to Tehran by public transportation. It's served by Tehran Metro Line 4, with stations dedicated to Terminals 1 and 2, and another for Terminals 4 and 6. Several public bus routes operate nearby, particularly through Azadi Square. Taxis are readily available at the airport, and ride-hailing apps such as Snapp and Tap30 are commonly used by travellers.

A branch of Tehran Metro Line 1 provides direct service between the airport and Tehran city centre. The line runs 24 hours a day, though trains on the branch line can have long intervals, often around 70 to 80 minutes. Some bus services also operate to areas such as Azadi Square, but schedules are infrequent and may require additional onward travel. For most passengers, the metro or a taxi is the more convenient option.
