Zambia is a vast and beautiful country located in southern Africa, largely untouched by commercial tourist development. The country's highlight is the spectacular Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River, which forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The falls offer breath-taking scenery and a variety of thrilling activities, including white-water rafting, bungee jumping from the 364-foot (111m) high bridge, canoeing, abseiling, micro-light flights, elephant-back safaris, jet boating through rapids, and more.

South Luangwa National Park, centred around one of Africa's most intact river ecosystems, is renowned for its large concentration of game and as the birthplace of the legendary Zambian walking safari, which is still considered one of the best ways to experience the African wilderness.

Visitors rarely spend much time in Zambia's towns, often heading straight for safaris or lodges. The capital, Lusaka, offers a different experience: a bustling city with a lively street market culture and a resilient population facing economic challenges. While infrastructure can be limited in parts, Lusaka has its own unique charm and is a gateway to Zambia's varied wilderness adventures.
